Our Branch
Branch Details
The Central Borders Branch of the SNP has been recently formed
as a result of boundary voting changes. Formerly we were the
Selkirkshire Branch which itself was the result of a merger
between two older branches, the Selkirk and District Branch
formed in 1967, and the Galawater Branch formed in 1970. The
reason for the amalgamation was based on the close working
relationship between the two branches at election times and in
the fund raising events held throughout the year. It was decided
that in an area such as we have here in the Scottish borders we
could work more effectively with the two branches joined and it
proved to be an excellent union.
The branch meet in the “Salmon Inn” in Bank St Galashiels.
Meetings are held monthly on a Wednesday and start at 7.30pm.
A warm welcome is extended to any member who wishes to attend.
Dates for future meetings can be found by phoning any of the
office-bearers. Their contact details can be found by clicking
