Our Branch
The Selkirkshire
Branch of the SNP has been in being since 1998 and the present
branch is the result of a merger between two older branches, the
Selkirk and District Branch which was formed in 1967, and the
Galawater Branch formed in 1970. The reason for the amalgamation
was simple, and was based on the close working relationship
between the two branches at election times and in the various
fund raising events held throughout the year. It was decided
that in an area such as we have here in the Scottish borders we
could work more effectively with the two branches joined and it
has proved to be an excellent union.
The
branch is at present meeting in the upstairs lounge of the "Town
Arms" in the West Port of Selkirk, this is just off Market Sq.
The meetings are held monthly on a Sunday and start at 7.30pm. A
warm welcome is extended to any member who wishes to attend.
Dates for future
meetings can be found by phoning any of the office-bearers.
